Watching "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies"... Again

Back in February, I watched "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" for the second time. It's already March, so this will be short.

Really, the only thing I have to say is that I'm glad they added Legolas in. After watching this again, I've decided that he is a really cool character. He's not in the books, but he saved lives throughout the battle, and had interesting battle scenes. I'm pretty excited to watch "Lord of the Rings" now too.

Legolas was off doing all these heroic stunts, but I realized Bilbo Baggins is really lucky to be alive. He threw rocks at the enemies and then got hit with one himself, and was knocked out. I find it hard to believe that NOTHING happened to him.

Anyway, I liked the Hobbit, but I would recommend watching the first two before this one, in order to understand the story.

The Fall of Five- Review

I just read it, so I'm going to review it!

WARNING: SPOILERS!!!!

I'll start off by saying that I love the book cover. "The Fall of Five" is the 4th book in the Lorien Legacies series and it has my favourite cover out of all of them. I just love the interesting design and the grey-silver colours.

This book starts off with Sam narrating. Don't get me wrong- I love Sam, but his narration sort of threw me off. Halfway through his chapters, I would wonder who was narrating and then remember it was him. Either way, it wasn't so bad that I had to flip back to some page that showed it was Sam narrating.

The whole gang is together again- except Five. They're all hanging around Nine's penthouse, not doing much after almost getting killed by Setrákus Ra. Sam is in some Mogadorian prison in New Mexico, gets rescued by his father, la dee la dee la. Oh right- Malcolm Goode (Sam's missing father) was with a Mog named Adam. (Adam didn't come to the penthouse with them)

Anyway, after a while there are signs of Five. He or she has burned the Loric symbol of Five into a cornfield, and later comments on a news website a riddle for the other Loric. It really doesn't take long for the remaining Garde to figure out that Five likely burned the symbol, and they figure out the riddle. It is decided that John (4), Six, and Sarah will go meet him. There, they meet Five (who is a guy by the way), fight against Mogadorians, and reunite with Sam.

Five is immediately stands out. He's never seen a Mog before and he really is quite odd. Some of the Garde are particularly rude, especially Nine, who keeps referring to him as a Hobbit.

I'm not really sure why Hobbit is an insult since I really like hobbits, but...

Anyway, here's the main details you need to know (that I don't feel like going into further detail about):

-Ella has been having nightmares of Setrákus Ra, and eventually falls into a coma
-Six, Nine, Five, Eight, and Seven go to get Five's Chest, leaving Malcolm, Sam, Sarah, Ella, and 4 behind.

That's it.

So, Ella puts John (4) into the coma with her. John sees what is basically the future. Every human is watching some sort of Mogadorian show, which happens to be the murders of Six and Sam. Six is the last surviving Garde, so John quickly realizes that he's dead. He gets to watch Ella order the execution of Six and Sam. Fun.

John wakes up due to another scar on his ankle. Who could be dead???

Meanwhile, the other Garde members are at the swampy place where Five's hid his Chest. Five attacks Six and Nine, but wants Seven and Eight to join him as traitors. (Five's working with the Mog...and he hasn't seen one? LIAR!)

I already wrote this before, saved it twice, and then published it 3 times, but stupid Blogger decided to erase it all, so I'm keeping it short.

Five is planning to kill Nine due to his infuriating comments, but Eight teleports in the way and takes a knife to... himself.

EIGHT IS DEAD!! WHY?? STUPID FIVE!!!!!!!

I thought the death of Eight was actually a great choice for the authours. Marina's really upset, Five might be feeling traitorous, Nine feels a ton of guilt, and a Garde is dead! Who could want more? I'm just saying, if the whole series ended with just 1, 2, and 3 dying, the series would be HORRIBLE.

Anyway, the helpful Mog, Adam, comes to the penthouse, where basically 3 humans are protecting 2 Loric people from the Mogadorians that have invaded.

The End.

This was a fantastic book. I've enjoyed every book in the series and this one has my favourite cover. I have already started "The Revenge of Seven" and I'm enjoying it too. I also heard there will be another book in the series (the last book)! Hopefully I can read that one without any spoilers :)

Starting Over

Basically, I'm starting this whole blog thing over again.

For starters, I've changed the name of this blog to The Magic Skeeter instead of The Book Baker. It just seems more unique, if you know what I mean. The Magic Skeeter references one of my favourite series (Harry Potter) and it was the first thing that came to mind that I relatively liked.

Secondly, please ignore my previous "promises" from the other 2 blog posts I have written. I attempted to write a post about my favourite BSC character but that didn't work out and it's been so long since I read "The Power of Six" that reviewing it would make no sense.

Third of all, I don't think I'm going to just do book reviews. I can't really think of a reason to write down, but I want to write about other things too. Although I just said this, my next post will probably be a review for "The Fall of Five".

Fourth of all, I think I'm going to use less pictures. I'm just not good at finding interesting pictures to put in and I don't really like the way they look.

 That's pretty much it...

THE END!
